Question 1

Will you freeze a deposit on my card?

Accepted Answer

No. WoopDrive rentals are deposit-free: the 1,000 to 2,500 EUR hold that traditional rental desks place on your card stays in your account. A security deposit may apply only to selected luxury vehicles, and when it does it is clearly shown on the car and in your booking summary before you book, never as a surprise at pickup. The rental price itself is paid at booking: in full when the pickup is within 30 days, or 10% at booking and the remaining 90% 30 days before pickup.

Question 2

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

We accept debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. A regular bank card is enough, you don't need a credit card. Payment is processed securely through Stripe, our payment provider. WoopDrive never sees or stores your full card number.

Question 3

Do I need to download an app?

Accepted Answer

Yes - you'll need the WoopDrive app to start and end your trip and to take the required vehicle photos. Browsing cars and making the booking work on woopdrive.com from any browser; the trip itself runs through the app. Your car keys are physical and are handed over at pick-up.

Question 4

Do I need to queue at a rental desk?

Accepted Answer

Your booking, identity check and contract are completed online, so there is no clipboard to sign in person and no paperwork at pick-up. You collect the physical car keys from the rental company: at the airport, at the rental desk by the airport car rental parking area, or after a short shuttle ride in Alicante and Malaga. The exact handover is described in the Pick-up details on each car and in the instructions email before pick-up.
