Dubai is laid out for the car. Its landmarks sit along two long axes, Sheikh Zayed Road inland and Jumeirah Beach Road by the sea, and most of them have their own car parks or valet desks. That makes a luxury rental practical as well as a pleasure: you drive from a meeting in DIFC to the Burj Khalifa, along the coast to the Palm and on to Dubai Marina without changing transport. This guide plans the city in two or three days, explains where parking is free, paid or handled by valet, how Salik tolls reach a rental car, and which kind of car fits each day. One thing to settle first: the rental companies behind our Dubai luxury cars do not allow desert or off-road driving.
In short
- Salik tolls, Monday to Saturday: AED 6 from 06:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, AED 4 at other times, free from 01:00 to 06:00. Sunday: AED 4 all day, free from 01:00 to 06:00.
- 5% VAT applies to Salik tolls from 1 June 2026.
- Street parking is paid from 08:00 to 22:00 every day except Sunday; multi-storey car parks are paid around the clock.
- The Dubai Mall: the first 4 hours of parking are free on weekdays, 6 hours at weekends.
- Desert and off-road driving is not allowed under the rental terms of the companies behind our Dubai luxury cars.
- Basic insurance comes with these cars: if the car is damaged you pay an AED 5,000 excess plus the rental fee while it is repaired.

How to plan the route
Give each day one part of the city: the towers and DIFC on day one, the Jumeirah coast and the Palm on day two, Dubai Marina and Bluewaters on day three. With two days, join the Palm to the Marina: Atlantis to JBR is about 10 to 12 km. The whole loop from Downtown to Jumeirah, the tip of the Palm and back to the Marina is roughly 40 to 45 km before detours, so the driving itself is short. The time goes on parking, valet desks and traffic in the evening peak.
Which luxury car for which trip
Our Dubai fleet runs from luxury sedans to supercars. Choose by what the days need as much as by the badge:
- Luxury sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Maybach S580, Rolls-Royce Ghost): the car for business in DIFC, airport runs and evenings out, with a real back seat and boot.
- Luxury SUV (Mercedes-AMG G63, Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover): room for passengers and luggage. The G63 and Urus in our fleet seat five and take two or three large bags, which makes them the airport and family choice.
- Convertible (Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, Bentley Continental GTC, Porsche Boxster): for the late-afternoon drive along Jumeirah Beach Road and onto the Palm. The Lamborghini has two seats and room for one large bag at most, so plan the luggage around it.
- Sports car (Lamborghini Huracán STO and Tecnica, McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche 911): a car to drive for its own sake, with two seats and little or no luggage space. Keep to the posted limits; rental terms can add their own cap, and Uptown Rent A Car's agreement rules out driving above 160 km/h.
The block at the top of this guide shows two sports cars and two luxury SUVs that are free for the dates you choose, with the total price for those dates and each car's conditions. See every luxury car in Dubai to compare the whole fleet.
Day 1: Downtown Dubai and DIFC
Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall
Start in Downtown, where the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain share one district. The tower has observation decks on levels 124 and 125 at 456 m, a higher deck on level 148 that includes access to 124 and 125, and a lounge on levels 152 to 154. The fountain in front of the mall reopened in October 2025 after a renovation.
- Parking
- The Dubai Mall: first 4 hours free on weekdays, 6 hours at weekends, then AED 20 for 4 to 5 hours and more after that. The fee is taken from the car's Salik tag account.
- Time to allow
- Fountain shows: 13:00 and 13:30 Saturday to Thursday, 14:00 and 14:30 on Friday, then every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 23:00.

DIFC: Gate Village and the galleries
The Dubai International Financial Centre is the city's business district and, around Gate Village, one of its gallery quarters, with Opera Gallery and Tabari Artspace, and Christie's nearby. DIFC Art Nights is listed for November 2026. On a working day the sedan earns its place here: meetings, lunch at Gate Avenue, then the evening at the fountain.
- Parking
- Ticketless since 1 January 2026, paid through Salik. Gate Avenue: first hour free, then AED 10 an hour. Gate District and Gate Village: first hour free, then AED 25 an hour on weekdays 06:00 to 18:00, AED 20 at other times.
- Time to allow
- Valet: AED 30 an hour, with the first 3 hours free when a shop or restaurant validates the ticket.
Day 2: Jumeirah and Palm Jumeirah
Jumeirah Mosque
Drive from Downtown to the coast at Jumeirah. The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding runs visits to Jumeirah Mosque every day except Friday at 10:00 and 14:00. A visit lasts 1 hour 15 minutes; there is no booking, and registration opens 30 minutes before.
- Time to allow
- 10:00 or 14:00, not on Fridays. AED 45.
Kite Beach and La Mer
Further along Jumeirah Beach Road, Kite Beach has water sports, running tracks and a view of the Burj Al Arab, and La Mer in Jumeirah 1 is the beachfront district closer to the city. This stretch is where a convertible makes sense, in the late afternoon.
- Parking
- Public parking is paid from 08:00 to 22:00 except Sundays. Check the zone on the sign and pay by SMS to 7275 or at the machine.

Palm Jumeirah: The View and Atlantis
Take the trunk road onto the Palm. The View at The Palm has its deck on level 52 at 240 m and The Next Level on level 54 at 250 m, open 09:00 to 19:00, with the lobby on the rooftop of Palm Jumeirah Mall. Atlantis The Palm stands at the far end of the crescent. To leave the car at the entrance, the Palm Monorail runs from Palm Gateway via Al Ittihad Park and Palm Jumeirah Mall to Atlantis Aquaventure every 15 minutes, AED 20 one way from Gateway to Atlantis.
- Drive
- Jumeirah Mosque to Atlantis: about 22 to 25 km, 30 to 40 minutes.
- Parking
- Atlantis: free valet for hotel guests; day visitors get free valet with an AED 150 spend, or free parking at P18 with a shuttle to The Avenues.

Day 3: Dubai Marina, JBR and Bluewaters
JBR, The Walk and The Beach
Park once and walk: The Walk at JBR, The Beach opposite it and the Marina promenade sit side by side. Come in the morning or after sunset for the walk, and take the SUV that day if there are four of you with luggage.
- Drive
- Atlantis to JBR: about 10 to 12 km, 15 to 20 minutes.
- Parking
- JBR: ticketless, AED 20 an hour, at most AED 200 per 24 hours, 3 hours free with an AED 100 spend, no overnight parking. The Beach: AED 20 an hour, valet AED 55 a day.
Bluewaters and Ain Dubai
Bluewaters Island lies off JBR. Ain Dubai, the observation wheel there, lists daily opening from 10:00 to 21:00 on its website; check the site on the day before you plan around a ride.
- Parking
- Ain Dubai ticket holders get up to 4 hours of underground parking on Bluewaters.
Driving in Dubai: tolls, parking and rules
- Traffic drives on the right and overtakes on the left.
- Salik tolls: 10 gates, among them Al Barsha, Al Safa and Business Bay Crossing. Monday to Saturday AED 6 from 06:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, AED 4 at other times, free from 01:00 to 06:00; Sunday AED 4, also free from 01:00 to 06:00. 5% VAT is added from 1 June 2026. Al Safa North and Al Safa South in the same direction within an hour are charged once.
- In a rental car the windscreen tag belongs to the rental company, which charges the tolls and any traffic fines to you after the rental. Uptown, Cardiwan, MKV and Midtown add a service fee, as their rental terms state.
- Street parking: paid from 08:00 to 22:00 every day except Sunday; multi-storey car parks around the clock. Zone A costs AED 6 an hour from 08:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 and AED 4 an hour at other times. Pay by SMS to 7275 (plate number, zone and hours) or at the machine.
- Seat belts for the driver and the front passenger. Children under 10 or shorter than 145 cm may not sit in front. Hand-held phone use while driving is fined.
- Alcohol: zero tolerance for drivers.
- Accident: report every accident to the police, through the Dubai Police app for a minor one or on 999 if anyone is hurt. The rental terms require a police report.
- Your licence: some visitors may drive on their home licence, others need an international driving permit. We check the licence before the rental starts.
Desert driving: book a tour, not a rental
The rental companies behind our Dubai luxury cars do not allow desert or off-road driving. Uptown Rent A Car's terms rule out deserts and tracks, and the Cardiwan agreement, also used by MKV Luxury Car Rental, sets an AED 5,000 fine for driving in desert or restricted areas. Parts of it are protected: in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, 225 km² or 4.7% of the emirate, only approved safari operators with registered guides may run 4x4 dune trips, on set routes. For the dunes, book a licensed tour and keep the rental on the road.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I drive a rented luxury car into the desert?
No. The rental terms of the companies behind our Dubai luxury cars forbid desert and off-road driving, and one of them fines it AED 5,000. For the dunes, book a licensed desert tour.
Do I pay a deposit for a Lamborghini or G-Class in Dubai?
Not for the cars shown in this guide: they have a €0 security deposit. Each car's page states its own deposit before you pay, so a car that needs one shows the amount there.
How are Salik tolls charged on a rental car?
Through the car's Salik tag. The rental company charges the tolls to you after the rental, and Uptown, Cardiwan, MKV and Midtown add a service fee. Monday to Saturday, peak hours cost AED 6 per gate, other hours AED 4, and 01:00 to 06:00 is free.
Where do I park for the Burj Khalifa?
In The Dubai Mall car parks. The first 4 hours are free on weekdays and 6 hours at weekends; longer stays are charged through Salik.
Which luxury car suits four people with luggage?
A luxury SUV. The Mercedes-AMG G63 and Lamborghini Urus in our fleet seat five and take two or three large bags; the Huracán models have two seats.
Is mileage unlimited?
The offers do not state a daily allowance. If you plan long drives, for example to Abu Dhabi, ask us before you pay.
